Our yoga and movement classes are designed for every body. Our teachers create a safe and nurturing environment. Each class encourages physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness while increasing awareness, confidence, self-esteem and balance to improve health and quality of life. With a consistent practice of connecting life, energy, movement with mind, body and spirit, the student will naturally begin to make positive choices to live a healthy, mindful lifestyle. Hence, practicing yoga "on and off " the mat. Class DescriptionsSimple Yoga is for anyone new to yoga or the regular practitioner as classes are taught with the beginner student in mind. Students are guided through meditation, breathing techniques, natural alignment of each posture with modifications to suit each student, as well as final relaxation. Students learn to notice sensations, listen to their bodies, honor their abilities and limitations, increase awareness, open to self-discovery and personal expression while calming the mind and being in the present moment to create a safe and transforming practice. Kripalu Yoga® is an inquiry-based yoga. Kripalu means “compassion”. A Kripalu Yoga® practice emphasizes cultivating compassionate self-observation without judgment and the flow of “prana” which means energy or life force within the practitioner. Kripalu Yoga® uses classic hatha yoga postures, meditation, deep breathing and relaxation techniques to increase body awareness and encourage natural alignment with modifications to suit each student. Students are guided through a yogic experience where they learn to notice sensations, listen to their bodies and inner wisdom, honor their abilities and limitations, open to self-discovery and personal expression while calming the mind to be present in the moment. Lymph Flow Yoga™ is slow meditative practice combining Kripalu Yoga® and lymphatic self-massage to stimulate the lymphatic system, increase the flow of lymph fluid, and remove blockages and stagnation within the lymphatic and energy channels to encourage an uninterrupted flow throughout the body. Yoga acts as a natural pump to move the lymph fluid. This class was created specifically for lymphedema patients but is great for every body to maintain a healthy immune system.Let Your Lymph Flow™ is a 75-minute practice without the self-massage. Both practices consist of meditation, deep breathing, a carefully designed sequence of poses intended to move and drain lymph fluid, and final relaxation to boost immunity, calm the nervous system and heal the body. Meditation allows us to experience inner peace and tranquility, quiet the mind, eliminate stress, invite happiness and calmness, encourage mental clarity and awareness. Mindful awareness frees us from habitual patterns, allowing us to consciously make healthier, more positive choices to heal the body, mind and soul. All our classes incorporate meditation techniques and tools to manage personal struggles we experience in daily life. Healing Tai Chi & Qigong. Experience a guided standing, moving meditation while cultivating “Chi” which means energy or life force within the body. Reduce stress and acidity; create balance, strength and flexibility; increase bone density, range of motion, mental clarity and awareness; promote vitality, longevity and good health; connect mind, body and spirit to instill grace, calmness, peace and freedom. Awaken the body’s innate self-healing powers through mindful movement to purify, cleanse and eliminate toxins and boost immune function. Restorative Yoga poses allow us to relax and rest deeply by allowing gravity to do the work while being supported with lots of pillows, blankets and bolsters. This class is great for letting go of stress, anxiety and tension with ease. Restorative yoga calms the nervous system, stimulates and soothes the organ systems allowing the body to heal from the inside out. This class is highly recommended any one undergoing cancer treatment, recovering from surgery, dealing with a chronic illness or just want to receive the healing benefits of yoga effortlessly. Relax, Receive and Renew! Yoga Nidra or “yogic sleep” refers to the conscious awareness of the deep sleep state. One appears to be sleeping but the unconscious mind is functioning at a deeper level; it is sleep with a trace of deep awareness. Restore the body and mind to its natural state of well-being, calm the nervous system and awaken the body’s innate ability to heal. Eliminate the root cause of physical and emotional disorders, which drain our life energy. Yoga with Weights offers the student the opportunity to add another physical layer onto their existing yoga practice by using 1 lb. wrist and ankle weights. Adding just a little extra weight without interfering with movement in and out of the yoga postures offers increased muscle strength, toning, stamina and bone density. Note: The use of weights is optional. You may attend this class and not use weights. However, It is not recommended for the beginner student to use weights.
